Love for the Lost...

A puppy was dumped at my school early one morning in the fall. Her fur was matted and dirty, but I could see longing in her tiny little eyes. She was hungry for nourishment, and craved the attention of someone who could provide her with love.

The children were excited to see a pet in the classroom! Plans for the day were put on hold, as we discussed names for our new friend. The chosen name was “Luci”, and it was decided the teacher would take her home.

Luci became our treasured pet that day. She was bathed, fed and given a warm place to sleep. She cuddled in my lap and surprised us with her joyful spirit, and loving desire to please…

Rescued pets are the happiest of animals, because they understand when they are no longer lost. But, stray pets are not the only ones who crave for more in their lives. Many people in the world are waiting to be found. They hunger for nourishment of the soul, and wait to be cuddled in the arms of someone who cares.

God recognizes the hearts of those who want to be rescued. He sees our struggles. He longs to hold us in His loving hands of strength and provide for our needs. God is our Savior. He rescues us from difficult situations and teaches us how to recognize when we are no longer lost.

Joy comes as we recognize we have been found. God places us where we will never be lost again, if we learn to trust and believe He will lead us home…

God is near and He loves YOU,

Nan

As a shepherd looks after his scattered flock when he is with them, so will I look after my sheep. I will rescue them from all the places where they were scattered on a day of clouds and darkness. Ezekiel 34:12
