Goodbye to Christmas???

After weeks of preparation, Christmas arrives and moves us through the hustle and bustle of a busy, hectic season. We attend holiday functions, bake, purchase gifts and completely exhaust ourselves in celebration of a holiday which has quickly arrived.  But, when all is said and done, there is often an empty feeling of sadness when Christmas Day is over and the heart no longer feels joyful to anticipate what is to come.

God sent His Son to the world for more than one day of recognition. In  hectic moments of preparation for one special day, we often forget God prepares us to receive Him, every day of our lives. The tiny baby Jesus came forth to bring hope, peace and joy to our hearts. God provided a miracle and Jesus came to earth! Only God can fill the emptiness of our hearts and remind us why we do not have to say “goodbye” to Christmas.

God provides the way for us to understand how to joyfully anticipate the gift of Jesus in our lives. He helps us find content in every situation. He guides us toward His greatness, when we choose to follow Him. Only God can show us how to be lead by His perfect grace, and understand we cannot find it on our own.

True joy is not found under the Christmas Tree. It is not packaged in one day just to make us feel joyful. God’s love is everlasting. His gift to the world is offered to those who will choose to receive it. Each day of life can bring opportunities to gratefully allow God to fill us with anticipation of what is to come. But, we must be willing to trust in His provisions for our lives.

Why are we feeling sad to say “goodbye” to Christmas? God knows what the heart needs to feel joyful. He is in control of our days. God has a plan for our lives. We must learn to seek Him with all of our hearts, turn from our sinful ways, and know Him as Lord of our lives.

God sent His Son to bring peace, and hope through our Savior. “Joy to the world, the Lord has come.“ Let us praise God for His everlasting presence, and be joyful! He is near. He is here, every day of our lives.

Merry Christmas
Nan

that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
