Give thanks to the Lord, because he is good. His faithful love continues forever. Psalm 107:1

Sometimes, we rush through weeks of autumn without taking time to cultivate a grateful heart of thanks. We move quickly through November and focus only on what’s to come. We allow advertisers to make us believe Thanksgiving is merely a scheduled day of feast and don’t take time to consider God’s provisions for our lives.  

There will always be persuasions of the world which prevent us from taking time to seek God. But we will learn to appreciate every season of purpose, if we stay focused on Him and love Him with all of our hearts. He will remind us to be still and feel the presence of peace, when we have learned to appreciate the offering of His love.

God will reward us when we learn to be thankful. He will help us wait for what’s to come. He will teach us to cultivate a spirit of thanksgiving and nurture the need for calm. And, in gentle moments of truth, He will help us realize why we should be grateful. He will remain close to those who remain close to Him. He is a good, good Father who is WORTHY of our praise. We must never forget to show our grateful appreciation. ♥

 

Dear God, Thank you for Your presence in our lives. Forgive us when we become consumed by what’s to come and forget You are faithful. We appreciate every season of our lives. As we take time to harvest a spirit of thanksgiving, help us remember why we should ALWAYS be grateful for You. Amen
