“Take a guard,” Pilate answered. “Go make the tomb as secure as you know how.” 66 So they went and made the tomb secure by putting a seal on the stone and posting the guard. Matthew 27:65-66

Jesus said He would rise. His disciples hid in fear and contemplated what had happened. Weariness and worry filled them with wonder. The loss of our Savior crippled their thoughts, while they waited in grief and despair.

Our lives are often put on hold while we wait in times of wonder. But, because of Jesus we find HOPE. We learn to understand the promise of new life and wait to be strengthened by the One whose power is made perfect in our weakness.

Perhaps before we welcome the resurrection, we need time to be held in our wonder. We need to experience the trials which humble our hearts for Him and help us understand God is near to the brokenhearted. The Bible says, The LORD is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Psalm 34:18

The seasons of our lives will bring uncertainty. We will deal with sadness and loss. Our lives will change but God will not. He will open our eyes to the power of His love and show us how to wait for JOY to return where it belongs.

As we wait to celebrate our risen Lord, we should consider what a precious gift God has given. We must not be anxious in the wonder of our worries. Christ will use them to draw us closer to the heart of His love. And, He will help us remember; HE WILL remove our fear, because HE lives .

Dear God, Humble our hearts for Jesus. Help us examine our lives and welcome Your strength, while we wait in circumstances which are difficult. We will celebrate our risen Lord and find joy in the love of Your faithfulness. We gratefully experience a living relationship with Jesus and never forget who WILL handle ALL things. Amen
