"Take courage and be stouthearted, all you who hope in the Lord." Psalm 31:24

In times of challenge, we need to be reminded God is with us. He takes care of our needs and holds us in the promise of His everlasting love. He reminds us of His presence in our lives and helps us understand there IS a plan for our days.

As Christmas approaches, we consider precious Mary. She faithfully trusted God had a plan for her life. He chose her to carry His Son, believing she was the best mother for Jesus. She must have been frightened and weary as He revealed His plan and prepared her to accept His will. But, she faithfully responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May it be as you have said.” Luke 1:38

God prepares us to serve Him. He opens our hearts to recognize His guiding in our lives. He leads us where HOPE is found in the strength of His holiness and moves us in the direction He needs us to go.

HOPE is something we need! It is defined as "the desire and search for a good future". It would have been easy for Mary to reject the will of God, but she was faithful to believe He would provide with safe travels and peace. Mary journeyed to Bethlehem, trusting the One who sent her.

God longs for us to acknowledge His presence in our lives, as we travel with Him. He patiently prepares us to love Him with a servant’s heart of HOPE. He calls us to do great things and wants us to obey. He gives strength to fulfill His plans for our lives and provides opportunities for us to trust we will be blessed.

As we embrace the season of hope, we must remember; God took care of Mary, and He will take care of us. He will help us discover HOPE as we journey with Him. And, He will provide the strength we need to gratefully remember; He already knows where we will arrive.

Dear God, Thank you for this season of love. Thank you for Jesus and the precious young mother who fulfilled Your will. Help us remember who’s in charge of our ALL things. Open our hearts and prepare us for what’s to come, as we faithfully trust in YOU. Amen
