And when you stand praying, forgive anyone you have anything against. Then your Father in heaven will forgive your sins. Mark 11: 25-26 NIRV

It’s hard to forgive, when feelings are hurt and pains of the past taunt us. It’s easy to become frustrated and forget how to welcome peace. Anger prevents us from experiencing joy. It doesn’t allow us to remember what Jesus did when He took our pain and blessed us with forgiveness.

Jesus died and rose again! Through his death, burial and resurrection, He demonstrated why we must humble our hearts and learn to FORGIVE. In painful moments of suffering, He humbled His heart to the will of the Father and paid the penalty for our sin. He provided the way for us to recognize how to TRUST God’s will for our lives.

Jesus knows our hearts. He invites us to have a living relationship and discover what happens when we’re led to the Father. He longs for us to receive the love of His faithfulness and experience how much we are loved.

If we release anger, God will replace it with content. He will make room for peace to dwell. But, we must prepare ourselves to move past the hurt, recognize Christ will help us and ready our hearts to forgive.

God will find the way to help us. If we pray for peace, He will allow us to receive. He will show us how to examine our lives and learn how it feels to forgive. “It will take a lot of courage to forgive. But, it will take even more courage to ask for forgiveness.”

We must listen to God’s guiding and surrender to Him. If we commune with the Father in prayer and humbly forgive those who have hurt us, surely He will bless the love of our faithfulness and prepare us to welcome the offering of His perfect peace.

Dear God, Thank you for Jesus! We honor the One who died in our place. Help us find peace, when feelings are hurt and anger robs us of joy. Show us how to remain faithful and learn how to forgive. Help us see others as You see them; deserving of Your love. Help us acknowledge our own sin, so we will understand why WE need to be forgiven. Open the eyes of our hearts so we will humbly experience the power of amazing grace and recognize the love of Your mercy. Amen
