"Take courage and be stouthearted, all you who hope in the Lord." Psalm 31:25
As we prepare for Christmas, we consider the young woman who faithfully trusted God had a plan for her days. When the Angel Gabriel told Mary she would carry God’s son, her life was forever changed by the message he shared.
God chose Mary,
knowing her heart. He believed she would be the best mother for Jesus.
He gave her the tremendous responsibility of carrying His Son, as He
readied her heart for His will.
Mary must have been frightened and weary as God revealed His plan for her life. But, she faithfully responded, knowing God would prepare her to deliver the Savior. “I am the Lord’s servant. May it be as you have said.” Luke 1:38
God prepares us to discover how to serve Him with a faithful heart. In difficult circumstances, He provides STRENGTH and opens our eyes to the love of His holiness. He guides where HOPE is found and lovingly leads us through the journey of our lives. He shows where to go and reminds us why we must TRUST in Him.
HOPE is something we need. It would have been easy for Mary to reject the will of God, but she was faithful to believe He would take care of her. She was faithful as she traveled in PEACE. Mary journeyed to Bethlehem, TRUSTING the One who sent her.
God longs for us to acknowledge His presence in our lives, as we travel together. He prepares us to love Him with a servant’s heart of HOPE. God wants us to recognize when we have been called to do great things, and He wants us to OBEY. He provides everything we need to find STRENGTH in our lives and learn how it feels to be faithful.
As we embrace this season of HOPE, we recognize God took care of Mary, and He will take care of us. He will lift us from our lives of wonder and help us find HOPE along the way. We must allow Him to lead us and TRUST the One who knows where He wants us to go. God will bless the heart of our faithfulness. He will ALWAYS take care of His children.
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for this season of love. Thank you for sending your Son to the world. Help us remember who’s in charge of our days. Open our hearts to your will, and prepare us for your greatness. Teach us to serve you with a faithful heart, even in weakness. Our HOPE comes from You alone. We will faithfully TRUST, as You prepare us for greater things. Amen
