I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” John 16: 33

Sometimes, we revisit days of the past which were simple and serene. We long to reflect on the moments when life was easy and calm. We long for days of “normal” to once again return and need to be reminded God has reason for EVERY season of our lives.

When we are tried by troubles, Jesus reminds us why we are not alone. He leads us through ups and downs and helps us find His peace in Him. He lifts us with His arms of strength and cradles us in care. And in moments to recognize we are held, He comforts us. He prepares us to experience what’s to come...

Perfect moments will NOT last forever. If we ALWAYS feel content, we'll forget why we need the Savior. We won't be able to recognize the pain of brokenness or how to surrender the worries of our wonder. We won't be able to examine our lives or humble our hearts to receive the gifts of God’s greatness. 

There will be trials and tribulations, but we must take heart. And we must not fear! There is peace in Christ, by the blood of the cross. He will shelter us in the safety of  mercy and strength. His grace will prepare us to remember how to find HOPE in the power of His everlasting love.

Dear God, Thank you for opening our eyes to feel the presence of Your love. We will trust You with all of our hearts and welcome the love of Jesus, in the midst of trials and tribulation. And we WILL learn to embrace the love of a grateful heart, as we allow ourselves to be held by the power of His perfect peace. Amen
