So encourage each other and build each other up, just as you are already doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

As we continue to hear news that is devastating, we also see glimpses of good; stories of people who are making a difference in the lives of others and blessing those who need to know they're not forgotten.

We are dealing with challenges we've never known. As we grumble about sheltering in place and miss normal routines, we need to be reminded there are many who have been isolated for a while, held in the hospital or fighting battles of their own.

Christ wants us to love one another. He set an example of how to live our lives with a heart of compassion. He helps us share one another’s burdens and recognize the needs of those who need to be lifted. He readies us to share gifts from the Father. And as we use them for His glory, He rewards us in ways we never could have imagined. He takes away frustrations of our own and replaces them with joy in knowing we will make a difference.

As we continue to experience the effects of Covid-19, we must open our eyes and recognize there are MANY who are suffering. And as we sit in the comfort of our homes, MANY have been separated from those they love. MANY are ill. MANY have lost loved ones. MANY have lost their jobs. MANY have little to eat. MANY are concerned about how to pay their bills. And MANY are in need of what will be provided when we share the love of Christ.

The Bible says, "And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise." Imagine what will happen if we make an effort to help someone and reach  the MANY who NEED us!

God will use us to help others. As we focus on doing what is good, He will help us show that we care.We mustn't simply say, "I'm here if you need me." We must follow through and share the love of His greatness. "Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience." Colossians 3:12 NIV

We won't always understand how God will use us. But He will! How will you choose to help your neighbors, family and friends? How will you show kindness and encourage others? Now more than ever, we need to demonstrate the love of Jesus. He will show us how to look beyond our own needs. And we are the ones who will be beautifully blessed.

“May glory be given to God in the highest heaven! And may peace be given to those He is pleased with on earth!” Luke 2:14 NIRV

Dear God, Thank you for Your presence! Fill us with the love of Jesus and help us understand the benefit of sharing the love of Christ. Help us look beyond ourselves, so we will see the heart of those who need to know the love of Your faithfulness. Thank you for handling our days. Show us how to ENCOURAGE and love. And help us not forget; when we take time to care about others, we are demonstrating our love for YOU. Thank you for loving each and every one of us. Amen
