“And the peace that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6

“Oh Come, oh Come Emmanuel” are words we hear at Christmas. They open our eyes for the Savior and remind us to focus on Him. They help us recognize the power of love and prepare our hearts to RECEIVE Jesus, God's precious gift to the world.

Sometimes we forget Jesus arrived in a filthy stable not fit for a King. Mary brought forth the Son of God in crude surroundings. In moments to welcome Christ, the world was forever changed! As we prepare to make room for the Prince of Peace, we should remember how very much He longs for our gratitude and LOVE.

Emmanuel means God WITH US! HE prepares us to welcome STRENGTH. He brings PEACE even when we're not sure how to find it. He touches our hearts and shines the light of His LOVE. He warms us with HOPE in His presence and fills us with everything we need to find Christmas calm.

Life will not always be easy. We will be faced with worry and doubt. But JESUS will love us through everything that happens in our lives. He WILL cradle us in care and cover us with mercy and grace. He will renew our love and give us the desire to lift our hands to One who saves. God will be our guide as we humbly examine our lives. He will help us make room for the Savior.

We must treasure our blessings and welcome Christ. He is deserving of a holding our hearts. We must be ready with open arms when He fills us with fullness and desire to love Him so much MORE. He will ALWAYS be there to provide for each one of us.

Dear God, thank you for helping us feel the light of Jesus and be warmed by the offering of His love. Oh, how we need to feel Your presence and welcome the love of Jesus. Thank you for helping us recognize the gifts of Your greatness as we take time to notice ALL You provide. Give us STRENGTH to endure when circumstances try to rob our joy. Guide us as we TRUST in YOU. Open our hearts as we tenderly make room for Jesus and offer Him the prayers of our praise. Thank you, Lord!  We’re so grateful for the power of Your love, at Christmas and EVERY day of our lives. Amen
