For everything God created is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving. 1 Timothy 4:4 NIV

God lovingly tends the gardens of our lives and prepares us to bloom. He chooses where we are planted and helps us grow us by the power of His love.

Summer heat is affecting us and creating havoc in our gardens. We dread the steamy hot weather. Beautiful blooms droop in the blazing sun and leaves wilt toward shriveled stems. Soil becomes dusty and dry. Plants are not allowed to flourish, as they try their best to survive.

It’s interesting to see what happens when water’s poured on the hardened ground. It pools on top of soil and slowly reaches the roots. But, in a matter of time, flowers once again have a chance to rise. They display beautiful gifts of purpose. Droopy plants come to life and welcome what has been missing.

God is the Maker of EVERY living thing. He nurtures us as we thirst for life and drink from His living water. Slowly, He pours peace in the places that are hardened. He sprinkles us with everything we need to be grown by His mercy and grace. And, He readies us to welcome Jesus.

God patiently waits for us to display His gifts to the world. He plants seeds of hope to cultivate a heart of praise and allows us to grow in the timing of His plan. And, when we humble our hearts and learn to TRUST, He helps us bloom where we’re planted. He handles difficult days of drought. He shows us why we must TRUST in Him, so we will be grown by His greatness.

God knows what He’s doing! He will water us in LOVE and prepare us to rise, when it’s time to reveal His will. He is our Master Planter. He will help us grow and allow our faith to flourish. We must remain faithful, even in our weathered doubt.

Dear God, Thank you for Your presence in our lives. Forgive us when our hearts become hardened in layers of dread and “drought”. Help us recognize why we must thirst for You, so we will understand what we need to grow. Humble our hearts and renew us. We will patiently wait to be readied to bloom and find hope in the promise of Your everlasting love. Amen
