Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matthew 22: 37-39
God creates magnificent patterns in the design of His plan. The fabric of our lives is sewn by our Creator. The Maker of every living thing knows how to bind us together. The blanket of wholeness is made of many different threads. And in the timing of His will, He weaves gifts of His greatness for EVERYONE to enjoy.
God covers us in love. He cradles ALL of His children. And while we are held in the heart of His strength, He reminds us to LOVE one another. We are not deserving of mercy and grace, but God reminds us why we are worthy. He helps us consider the sacrifice of His Son. Jesus died and rose again. Hatred did not hold Him to the cross. It was LOVE that allowed God’s will to be fulfilled.
God can help us understand the need for mercy and grace...He can show us how to extend it to one another. He can help us develop an attitude of understanding for those who need to know the love of Jesus. And He can create desire in us to share LOVE that is kind.
The blanket of wholeness will unravel. Lives will become tangled and torn. Threads will rip from their place of purpose, but God will know how to fix what is broken. He will mend the holes in our hearts and allow us to witness the power of mercy and grace. He will humble us to remember why we must LOVE Him with ALL of our hearts and truly LOVE one another.
God will cradle us as we welcome His strength and make a choice to care for the needs of others. He will help us examine our lives and humble our hearts for Him. He will open our eyes for what is good and help us remember; the power of LOVE is greater than hatred that scars us. We will never understand how to share kindness until we open our hearts; choose to make a difference and allow God to fill us with desire to love one another.
Dear God, Thank you for Your presence in our lives. Thank you for helping us choose to LOVE. Help us remember what blankets us in wholeness. Sew kindness in our hearts and help us not forget; when we choose to love others, we are showing our greatest LOVE for YOU. Thank you for cradling us in Your arms of strength. Thank you for the power of Your everlasting LOVE. Amen
