I will give thanks to you with all my heart, O Lord my God. I will honor you forever because your mercy toward me is great. Psalm 86: 12-13
Often, we rush through weeks of autumn without taking time to embrace a grateful heart. We move quickly through November and focus only on Christmas. We forget Thanksgiving is so much more than a scheduled day to feast. And we need to be reminded GRATITUDE is the foundation of worship to God.
God asks us to cultivate a heart of THANKFULNESS. 1 Thessalonians 5: 18 says, “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. When we focus on our blessings, it’s easier to deal with life’s difficulties. Taking time to reflect on ALL God has done, helps us remember He is NOT finished working in our lives.
Praising God honors Him! It strengthens our faith and helps us think about what is good. How can we cultivate a spirit of thanksgiving? We can reflect on what has already been given and recognize there’s ALWAYS reason to be thankful.
God will provide a harvest of HOPE. He will open our eyes to celebrate seasons of blessings. He will fill us full of everything we NEED, so we will recognize why reward will ALWAYS come, when we humbly welcome a grateful heart.
Dear God, As we prepare for Thanksgiving, help us remember to be thankful. Open our eyes to ALL You provide and guide us toward a prayer of praise. We will love You with all of our hearts and humbly consider how much we are loved. We will never forget; the LOVE of our GRATITUDE will always honor YOU and bless us in beautiful ways. Thank you, Lord. Thank you! Amen
