“Be imitators of God, and walk in love.” Ephesians 5:1-2

There are many scriptures written about LOVE. Ephesians 5:12 speaks to the heart of those who recognize what it means to walk in love and be imitators of the One who created us to LOVE one another.

God loved us enough to sacrifice His only Son. He demonstrated love when Jesus left the comfort of heaven to become a man. Christ suffered tremendous pain. He didn’t deserve to hang on a cross, or die a horrible death. God sent Jesus to take the sin of the world and provide eternal life for those who believe in Him. He demonstrated the power of His LOVE.

Jesus taught us to LOVE one another and share kindness with compassion. He cared for those not loved by others and renewed broken hearts with the love of mercy and grace. Often, we’re taught to take care of “Number One”. But when we focus on selfish needs, we miss important opportunities to reflect the love of Jesus and show others how it feels to be blessed. God wants us to embrace His joy! He provides tools to take care of His children and SHARE the love of His faithfulness.

How can we be imitators of Christ? We must first humble our hearts for Him and recognize how much we are loved. He loves us, because God IS LOVE. We have been given a heart to glorify Him with the compassionate gifts of His greatness. We must take time to see what needs to be noticed. If we demonstrate LOVE by our actions, surely we WILL make a difference in someone else’s life.

We WILL be blessed if we help those in need and simply learn to LOVE ONE ANOTHER. "The King will reply, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.'’ Matthew 25: 40 NIV

Dear God, Thank you for the power of Your amazing grace! Thank you for Your offering of love. Forgive us when we forget to share the love of Jesus. Open our eyes, so we will recognize those who need to feel the strength of Your love. Help us remember what we do for others, we do for YOU. Thank you for arming us with everything we need. May our actions speak louder than words. And may we always have a heart to honor You with the LOVE we have for one another. Thank you, Lord. Thank you. Amen
