Held in His Arms

As we consider the events which led to the crucifixion of Christ, we begin to realize the deep love God has for us.We understand Jesus carried much more than the weight of a heavy cross, as He walked to the hill where he would die…

Jesus stumbled and fell as He carried the weight of our sin. He suffered from the load He was chosen to bare, and sweat blood in agonizing moments of pain. As we consider the events which led to his death, we look to the cross and realize God understands a heart that suffers.

In moments of conflict, we often feel God does not hear our cries of despair. But, God knows our hearts. He invites us to consider how very much we are loved, and patiently waits for us to surrender our lives to him.

When we allow God to lift us toward his loving arms of peace, we begin to understand how it feels to be carried by the One who gave his life so we could live again.“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 NIV

Jesus did not stay on the cross. He died and rose again. Through his death, burial, and resurrection, he paid the penalty for our sins, and purchased eternal life for those who believe in him…

Salvation waits at the cross which was held in the arms of Jesus. None of us are worthy of His grace. But, we are deserving of salvation if we choose to accept it,and recognize how very good it feels to be carried in the arms of his love.

Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for Jesus. We reflect on the suffering of your Son who He died on the cross to take our sin. Fill us with desire to meet you at the cross and understand what it means to be carried in your loving arms of strength. Help us remember we are deserving of your love. Humble our hearts to recognize the gift of your salvation, as you fill us with desire to know you more…Amen
