♥ Feeding Hunger of the Heart ♥

I spent time in my classroom talking about the importance of eating good food. After our discussion, some children complained they were hungry. “I’m starved”, said one little boy. Another said, “I ate breakfast, and I’m still hungry! ”

Most of us will never know what it means to starve. We have food on our tables to sustain our physical needs. But, we have allowed ourselves to feed on mere morsels of spiritual crumbs, and are hungry as we consider how empty our hearts have become.

We hunger for peace and calm in a world that is hurting. We hunger for good health, and a spirit of content. We hunger for purpose and hope,  and realize we are hungry for so much more.

God satisfies hunger in those who want to be fed. He prepares us to receive nourishment for our souls, as we place our trust in Him. God waits to be invited to our table, so we can be filled with His loving gift of grace.

Only God can satisfy the hunger of our hearts, and provide us with His perfect peace. When we have been nourished in His love, we can begin to recognize how it feels to embrace a heart of content, and understand what it truly means to be full.

May God open your heart, and fill you with His love. May He satisfy the hunger in your heart and remind you He is near.

God loves YOU.
