The LORD is near to all them that call on Him, to all that call on Him in truth. Psalm 145:18

Jesus opens our hearts to prayer. In gentle moments, He prepares us to be covered in grace and guided toward the presence of peace. He waits for us to gratefully remember; strength comes when we’re led to the Father through Him.

Sometimes, prayer becomes habitual. We speak familiar words, but neglect to seek God’s mercy and grace. We forget how it feels to humble our hearts in truth and have difficulty admitting our weakness. But, God longs to help us find strength in the power of His love. He provides for our needs, when we humble our hearts and learn how it feels to surrender.

When prayers are spoken from the heart, God honors our honesty. He bandages our wounds and meets us right where we are. He heals the sores of the soul and reminds us who will handle our days. He is near to those who call on Him in truth. He is a good, good Father!

Dear God, Thank you for Your presence in our lives. Forgive us when we neglect to prayerfully honor You. Help us examine our hearts, so we will understand the need for Your mercy and grace. And, help us find strength in the offering of Your love, so we will never forget who is deserving of our praise. Amen
