God given friends share the love of Christ. They lead us in the right direction and never tire of sharing His faithfulness. They hold us in time of need and remind us why they care.

Even when we don’t feel joyful, friends find the way to remind us why laughter is important for the soul. They encourage us to learn how it feels to“stand still and dance inside” and have a special way of leading us to a place of calm.

Friends pray for us. And, even though we cannot hear their sweet exchanges with God, He strengthens us. He hears their pleas in our behalf and answers  requests of the heart. He shows us why we are loved and reminds us to treasure true friendships in our lives.

“Friends are the family we find along the way.” We all need the support of a loving friend; a treasured confidant with a listening ear and a heart of love for Jesus. Now, more than ever, we need to know how it feels to love one another.
We are all in this world together. Much can be accomplished, if we share our burdens, joys, and humbly allow God to connect us with those who make a difference in our lives.

The Bible has something to say about love. John 15:12 says “My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you.” John 15:17 says “This is my command: Love each other.” Jesus is not only requesting us to love. He is commanding that we truly LOVE one another.

“Make new friends and keep the old. One is silver and the other gold” are words which hold true. Take time today to gratefully thank God for the friends who care about you. They are the greatest gifts; the needed treasures for the soul and they are God given in time of need.

Dear God, Thank you for friends. Thank you for strength which comes from those who recognize our needs. Teach us how to reach the heart of others, so we will demonstrate the compassionate love of Christ and be a reflection of everything good. Amen
