“Come,” Jesus said. So Peter got out of the boat. He walked on the water toward Jesus.  But when Peter saw the wind, he was afraid. He began to sink. He cried out, “Lord! Save me!”  Right away Jesus reached out his hand and caught him. “Your faith is so small!” he said. “Why did you doubt me?” Matthew 14: 29-31 NIRV

There will be days when doubt will creep in the soul of our well-being. We will forget to trust the One who waits to lift us with His strength. Fear will try and rob our faith, and we will need to be reminded how to be led from weakness.

Jesus demonstrated the power of His love. He performed many miracles. Peter walked on the water. But, when he began to sink, he called for Jesus to help. His faith was weakened and he was afraid. When we are afraid, God longs for us to BELIEVE more, so we will SUFFER less.

When we find ourselves sinking, the sense of need drives us to the One who saves. Our Savior reminds us why we must come to Him. He pulls us from waves of worry. And, when we are ready to be lifted, He leads us to the safety of the shore. He hears our prayers for strength and guides us where we find refuge and HOPE in Him.

God is never far from us in time of need. There WILL be storms in our lives. But, He WILL strengthen our faith, as He strengthens us. He will guide and provide all the days of our lives. We must prayerfully seek Him with all of our hearts and gratefully remember; He has the power  to do what we cannot.

Dear God, Thank you for Your everlasting love. Teach us to trust in the power of Your will, so we will find hope, even in the storms. We will lift our hands to YOU and never doubt Your ability to lead us to a place of calm. And, we will gratefully remember who has a purpose for our days.  Amen
