Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all the earth! Make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise! Psalm 98:4 KJ21

As we say goodbye to the last day of the year, perhaps we need to be reminded to say, “thank you, God” for carrying us through days, months and moments of 2016. We remember them in different ways. We reflect on struggles and also remember days that were good. God is worthy of PRAISE in ALL situations.

Sometimes, we’re afraid to look back and think about days that are painful to remember. But, in moments of need, God reminds us how far we have come. He helps us organize our thoughts and find HOPE in what WILL be provided for the future. And, He helps us understand; even though our lives will change, His love for us will not. He is constant, mighty and everlasting.

Something happens when we begin our prayers in praise. It allows peace to prevail. It opens our hearts to be grown in faithfulness and welcomes strength to remember God has a plan. It helps us embrace a grateful heart and opens our eyes to see what God wants us to discover.

We must “never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.” The future is uncertain, but we must TRUST and not worry about things we can’t control. The Bible says, “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!. 2 Corinthians 5: 17 NIV

Jesus will renew us! The One who was sent to bring HOPE and PEACE will provide opportunities for us to have a living relationship with Him. He will change our hearts as we surrender ourselves and BELIEVE in His power to save.

Tomorrow, we will wake to new possibilities in the New Year. As we open our eyes to welcome the arrival of 2017, I pray we remember God WILL do great things in our lives according to His power that’s at work in us. If we begin our prayers in praise, it will invite the strength of the Savior to help us not forget: God WILL prepare us to handle ALL things, if we TRUST and thankfully remain faithful.

Dear God, Thank you! YOU are the Provider of everything we need. Forgive us when we forget to welcome Your perfect presence of peace. We will make a joyful noise and honor YOU, as we begin this day with humble prayers of praise. And, we will share the JOY You place in our souls, as we discover how it feels to embrace the blessing of a GRATEFUL heart. Amen
