And she gave birth to her firstborn son. And she wrapped Him in swaddling-cloths, and laid Him in a manger, because there was not a place for them in the inn.
Luke 2: 7

At Christmas, we’re reminded Jesus was born in crude surroundings. We see pictures of Mary and Joseph welcoming our Savior in a stable with animals. We experience a heart of humbleness, as we visit the manger and think about how God chose His Son to come forth.

We consider their worry, as Mary and Joseph wondered where they would arrive. Sometimes, we too question how we will be led, as we journey with Jesus. We wonder where God will send us. But, as we trust in the power of His greatness, God leads us in the timing of His will. He provides strength when we TRUST in Him.

God takes care of us! Even in the midst of difficult circumstances, He reminds us we’re not alone. As we examine our hearts, we begin to understand we too will travel with uncertainty. But just as God took care of Mary and Joseph, He will take care of us. He knows the plans He has for our days. He will give us the ability to remain faithful.

Because of Jesus, we are given the gift of eternal life. Our journey on earth will not always be easy. But Jesus will guide us to the Father and show how to find refuge in Him. He will humble our hearts as we remember the events of His birth. And we will find joy to anticipate the arrival of Christmas.

Dear God, Thank you for Jesus! As we journey on paths unknown, arm us with everything we need to be reminded we do not travel alone. Help us experience Christmas peace, as we humble our hearts and consider the birth of Jesus. Thank you for the glory of Christmas and all You provide. Thank you for the love of Your precious Son. Bless each and every one, as we follow the path that leads to You. Help us remain faithful. Amen
