The LORD gives strength to his people; the LORD blesses his people with peace. Psalm 29: 11

Christmas is getting close. We peek at our calendars and worry there’s not enough time to get everything done. We cringe in the countdown and create unwanted stress in our lives. And in the midst of frustration and doubt we forget what matters the most; preparing our hearts for Jesus!

God wants us to examine our lives and remember where PEACE is found. It doesn’t matter how many cookies we bake, or if everything is decorated perfectly at home. It doesn’t matter if we can’t attend every holiday function or wrap presents with beautiful paper and bows.

God wants us to humbly RECEIVE His greatest gift! He provides PEACE to sustain us. Presents, food and decorations are wonderful for our celebrations. But God wants us to experience Jesus EVERY day of our lives. He wants us to take time to welcome the presence of His love and recognize where HOPE is found.

Jesus, precious Jesus lightens our darkness. He is HOPE for the weary, PEACE in our worry and STRENGTH in the mention of His name. When we long for Christmas calm, HE holds us together. HE covers us with the love of His holiness and HE hears the prayers of our hearts.

No matter what we are going through, God is with us. Our prayers are heard as He helps us welcome what we need. He will arm us with the Spirit of His faithfulness; today, tomorrow and EVERY day of our lives. Because of Jesus we have LOVE that is eternal and complete. God brought us the present of PEACE when His will was fulfilled by our Savior. "Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth PEACE to those on whom his favor rests." Luke 2: 14

Dear God, Thank you for the breath of Your holiness. Forgive us when we become frustrated by things that should bring us peace and joy. Help us examine our hearts as we prepare for Christmas. Guide our thoughts and remind us why we need to simply slow down and feel the love of Your faithfulness. Thank you for cradling us in care. Thank you for the glory of Christmas which will bring us PEACE every day of our lives. Thank you, Lord. Thank you! Amen
