So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow. 1 Corinthians 3: 7 NIV

God lovingly tends the garden of our lives and prepares us to bloom. He chooses where we will be planted. He promises to provide what we need to flourish in the presence of His love. He grows us in the timing of His will and helps us remember to trust in the power of His plan.

He sets the stage for each new season of life. Through long days of winter, God prepares us to open our hearts and receive what’s to come. He reminds us to be patient while we learn how it feels to be nurtured by Him.

Spring is coming soon. Winter gray will be replaced by gorgeous good. Green will become greener. Brown weathered soil will grow new life. Blue-sky days will allow us to be warmed by what has been missing.

The Bible says, “To everything there is a season and a time to every purpose under the heaven.” Ecclesiastes 3: 1 God needs time to grow us, so we will recognize there is a reason for EVERY single season. The Maker of EVERY living thing knows how to manage our days.

God will remind us who is in charge. He will show us how to remain faithful, while He readies us to rise. When the timing is right, He will provide glimpses of what’s to come and help us cultivate a peaceful heart of praise. He will bless those who patiently WAIT to be perfectly grown by Him.

Dear God, thank you for loving us through weathered days of doubt. You help us rise from the hardened layers and breathe new life in the heart of our weakness. We will gratefully wait to be grown in Your greatness. And we will not forget, You really DO have a plan for our lives. Thank you, Lord! Thank you! Amen
