Give, and you will receive. Your gift will return to you in full—pressed down, shaken together to make room for more, running over, and poured into your lap. The amount you give will determine the amount you get back. Luke 6:38 NLT

The holiday season can be challenging for those in charge of hosting special celebrations. It can be easy to lose sight of the reason we gather together and exchange special gifts.

Christmas is the time to focus on Jesus and welcome Him with humility, kindness and love. The wise men traveled to celebrate the Christ Child. In moments of praise, they presented gifts of gratitude to the One who came to save.

JESUS deserves our praise for ALL He has done to ensure PEACE forever. It isn’t found in expectations or selfish desires of our own. It is found in the gratitude of hearts which have learned to gratefully GIVE and RECEIVE.

The wise men traveled and found the Christ Child. In moments of praise, they humbled their hearts and offered Him their treasures. JESUS deserves the fulness of our gratitude. But sometimes we’re not sure what to offer the King of Kings.

He loves a thankful soul; opened eyes to focus on Him and humility which comes from a thankful heart. No matter what Christmas looks like this year, we must leave expectations behind and follow the star that leads to the Christ Child. He will help us experience a deeper appreciation for the offering of His love. He will give us JOY that will last forever…

“Oh, what can I give a child so small, what can I give to Him? I know He is worth more than gold on this earth, but what He simply wants is US.”

Dear God, thank you for this season of hope and opportunities to welcome Jesus. As we worship the One who deserves EVERYTHING we GIVE, humble our hearts to remember what He desires the most. Bless us with loving moments to RECEIVE Your greatest gifts and help us never forget where to find Christmas JOY. Thank you, Lord, thank you for Jesus! Oh, how we need Him so very much. Amen
