I will give thanks to you with all my heart, O Lord my God. I will honor you forever because your mercy toward me is great. Psalm 86: 12-13
Often, we rush through weeks of autumn without taking time to embrace a grateful heart. We move quickly through November and focus only on Christmas Day. We forget Thanksgiving is so much more than a day to feast and need to be reminded GRATITUDE is the foundation of fullness.
God asks us to cultivate a heart of thankfulness. 1 Thessalonians 5: 18 says, “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. When we focus on our blessings, it’s easier to deal with life’s challenges. When we take time to consider ALL God has done, He helps us remember He's NOT finished working in our lives.
Praising God honors Him! It strengthens our faith and helps us reflect on what is good. How can we cultivate a spirit of thanksgiving? We can reflect on what has already been given and find reasons to be thankful. We can prepare our hearts to welcome God’s amazing strength.
God will provide a harvest of HOPE. He will open our eyes to celebrate each season and fill us with what we NEED to receive the PEACE of Jesus. We will be BLESSED as we honor Him and learn HOW to welcome His greatness.
Dear God, as we prepare for Thanksgiving help us remember to be thankful. Open our eyes for the many ways you take care of us and those we love. You hear our prayers of praise as we reflect on the love of Your greatness. We will love You with ALL of our hearts, humbly consider how very much we are loved and stop giving You mere morsels of praise. Thank you for helping us welcome gratitude every single day. Thank you, Lord. Amen
