Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be men of courage; be strong. 1 Corinthians 16:13

In the midst of disCOURAGEment, COURAGE stands in the middle. It’s held in the layers of our hearts as we wait to be nurtured by God. It welcomes the offering of HOPE and allows us to understand the LOVE of God's mercy and grace.

God helps us recognize when we NEED the healing of His faithfulness. He bandages wounds of weakness and helps us find STRENGTH for our souls. He gives us COURAGE as we pray and believe in the power of His authority to help us surrender doubt.

God knows our frustrations. He knows the conflicts which consume us and rob us of welcoming JOY. The Bible teaches how to learn to be courageous and reminds us we’re not alone. Deuteronomy 31:6 says, “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you: he will never leave you nor forsake you.

How comforting it is to know Jesus is ALWAYS with us. Fear will try and rob PEACE that passes all understanding, if we allow it to dwell where it doesn’t belong. But if we pray with FAITH, God will keep us strong and help us find COURAGE in the midst of whatever we are going through. He will lead us to a prayer of praise when we have been calmed by His greatness and led to a place of gratitude. God will ALWAYS take care of those He loves.

Dear God, thank you for helping us stand firm in our faith as we journey with Jesus and learn to be courageous. Forgive us when we forget to trust in You. Help us remember You are handling our days and leading us EVERY step of the way. We will breathe in the calm of gratitude as we welcome Your strength, invite JOY to remain where it belongs and let go of fear and doubt. Thank you for Your love for us. It blesses us in so many ways. Thank you for helping us find courage and calm. YOU cradle us in care and we are grateful. Amen
